Edinburgh Weather :

Edinburgh WeatherEdinburgh weather is much like the rest of Scotland - it can best be described as very changeable! Although it can be considered rainy (see chart below) it actually gets far less rain than the westerly side of Scotland. At the height of summer Edinburgh can be bathed in scorching hot sun. Use of an umbrella may not be advisable due to the likelihood of wind which would soon destroy the thing or have you struggling with it while getting soaked. During the sumer months, especially after a couple of very warm days, local phenomenon can occur, the "haar", which is a sea mist that comes in from the Firth of Forth and can engulf the city. During the winter months Edinburgh can get very cold, especially if you take into consideration the wind-chill factor, with the usual rain, snow, and wind of a typical british winter.

The table below displays the average temperature and rainfall for each month - some months you may find surprising!.
